Description

Public saunas and a smoke house on Vuorilampi's shore in Jyväskylä. The trail from Laajavuori wound through pine trees, leading me to the edge of Vuorilampi. I arrived in the late afternoon, with the sun low over the water. Jyväskylä's Lakeland felt quiet that day, the kind of quiet that settles in forested hills. I paid the 12 euros for a single ticket at the entrance and stepped into SaunaLampila's world. Three public saunas waited, along with a smoke sauna and a hot tub nestled in nature. I started with one of the regular saunas, letting the heat build as I sat on the wooden bench.
