Maria Leuca to the south/Castro-Otranto Nord What to expect on board: This is our flagship, fascinating vintage ketch of 15 m., built in 1957 in the shipyards Dutch Cook. It has a round steel hull, teak deck and wooden interiors . Its first owner was a Frenchman who was well known in the international sailing field. He was the instructor of a young pioneer of sailing, the owner who at 22 was preparing to face the Atlantic crossing alone aboard a trimaran. He sailed on Cassiopèe from France to Italy to Trieste, referring in his book “Alone against the Atlantic”. In Trieste, Cassiopèe passed into the hands of two Italian brothers who in turn sold it to an Apulian who took it to Otranto . From here, 12 years ago, the story of Cassiopèe intersects with that of us who become the current owners.
